Overview
Fashion design explores the ways in which clothing, textiles, and accessories express identity, culture, and creativity. At Lisburn University, we delve into the transformative power of design to influence trends, challenge norms, and create impactful statements in the global fashion industry.
One day in class, your professor might showcase a groundbreaking collection from a leading designer or an emerging talent. You and your classmates analyze and critique the collection, examining elements such as the choice of fabrics, the interplay of colors, the cultural influences, and the societal message conveyed. Then, you conceptualize and sketch your own designs in response, bringing your unique vision to life.
Career Opportunities
Our graduates work and intern in a wide range of roles across the fashion industry and beyond — including fashion design, merchandising, styling, brand management, fashion marketing, retail buying, textile design, costume design, and sustainable fashion development. Many have launched their own clothing lines or design studios, while others have pursued advanced studies in areas such as fashion business, textile innovation, and creative direction.
