International Economics

You’ll develop the analytical and problem-solving skills needed to understand global economic systems, assess international trade policies, and evaluate financial markets—preparing you to make a significant impact in the field of international economics.

Overview

International Economics examines how global markets operate, how trade policies shape economic relationships, and how financial systems influence development. At Lisburn University, we explore the many ways international trade, exchange rates, and economic policies impact industries and nations worldwide.

One day in class, your professor might present a case study on a trade dispute or a global financial crisis. You and your classmates analyze, critique, and discuss its causes, economic implications, and policy responses. Then, you develop your own economic strategies, applying theoretical and data-driven approaches to address real-world international economic challenges.

Career Opportunities

Our graduates pursue careers and internships in a wide range of global economic and financial roles, including international trade analysis, economic consulting, policy research, financial risk assessment, and global market strategy. Many have joined multinational corporations, government agencies, financial institutions, and international organizations, shaping economic policies and trade agreements. Others have pursued further studies in economics, finance, or international relations, making a significant impact on the ever-evolving global economic landscape.
