Overview
Public Relations studies examines how words, images, gestures, and symbols are used to influence public perception and behavior. At Lisburn University, we explore the many ways that PR strategies can be applied — and sometimes manipulated — to shape culture, public opinion, corporate image, and political agendas.
One day in class, your professor might present a public relations campaign or a social media post from a company or political figure. You and your classmates analyze, critique, and discuss that campaign from different perspectives, such as its medium, its message, its audience, the credibility of the source, and the broader societal impact. Then, you will craft your own PR strategy or campaign in response.
Career Opportunities
Our graduates work and intern in a wide array of fields, including public relations, media relations, corporate communications, brand management, marketing, event planning, advertising, social media, and crisis communication. Many have also taken roles in nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and public affairs. Additionally, our alumni have successfully launched their own PR firms or pursued advanced studies in communication, strategic communications, journalism, law, business, and public relations management.
