Overview
Environmental studies address the ways in which ecosystems, resources, and human activities interact to shape the world around us. At Lisburn University, we explore the many ways that environmental awareness can be applied to create sustainable solutions in science, policy, business, and everyday life.
One day in class, your professor might present a case study on climate change policies or show data on urban development’s environmental impact. You and your classmates analyze, critique, and discuss the issues from different perspectives, such as ecological sustainability, economic feasibility, and social implications. Then, you collaborate to propose innovative solutions or policy recommendations.
Career Opportunities
Our graduates work and intern in a range of careers within diverse fields — environmental consulting, conservation management, urban planning, sustainability coordination, renewable energy, environmental policy, and education. Many of our alumni have launched initiatives addressing climate change and sustainability, while others have pursued advanced degrees in environmental science, public policy, urban studies, and sustainable development.
