Overview
English explores the ways in which language, literature, and storytelling shape human experiences and perceptions. At Lisburn University, we delve into how written and spoken words can influence and reflect cultural, emotional, social, and historical contexts.
In class, your professor may present a literary work, poem, or historical text. You and your classmates analyze, critique, and discuss the work from multiple perspectives, such as its themes, style, symbolism, and the cultural and historical significance. Then, you might create your own piece of writing in response, exploring the themes or expressing your own thoughts on the subject.
