Design Management

In the Design Management program, you’ll develop the strategic thinking and leadership skills necessary to effectively manage design projects, teams, and processes. By combining design principles with business practices, you’ll learn how to drive innovation, deliver impactful solutions, and lead design efforts in a broad range of industries — empowering you to make a significant impact in both creative and business environments.

Overview

Design Management addresses the ways in which design principles, strategies, and practices can influence and shape business outcomes, organizational culture, and consumer experiences. At Lisburn University, we explore how design can be effectively integrated into business models, product development, marketing strategies, and overall organizational success.

One day in class, your professor might present a case study from a leading design-driven company. You and your classmates analyze, critique, and discuss that company’s design strategy from different perspectives — its approach to innovation, its branding impact, the alignment of design with business goals, and how the company leverages design to create a competitive advantage. Then you’ll develop your own strategic design proposal in response.

Career Opportunities

Our graduates work and intern in a range of jobs in diverse fields — business management, marketing, product design, branding, user experience (UX), innovation strategy, advertising, consulting, event planning, and technology. Many of our alumni also go on to become design leaders, creative directors, or start their own design-focused businesses. Some pursue graduate studies in design management, business administration, strategic innovation, and entrepreneurship.
