Advertising

You’ll develop the creative and analytical skills necessary to design and evaluate a wide variety of advertising campaigns, preparing you for success across diverse industries — and enabling you to make a meaningful impact in the advertising world.

Overview

The Advertising program at Lisburn University prepares students for a career in the dynamic and creative world of advertising. The curriculum covers a range of topics, from brand strategy and media planning to digital marketing and consumer behavior. Students gain practical skills in creating effective advertising campaigns, conducting market research, and understanding the psychology behind consumer choices. This program provides a deep understanding of how advertising shapes public perception, influences consumer behavior, and drives business growth.

In class, your professor might present an advertisement or a commercial from a well-known brand. You and your classmates will analyze, critique, and discuss the ad from various perspectives, such as the medium used, the messaging, the intended and hidden meanings, the brand’s credibility, and the ad’s impact on the target audience. Then, you’ll create your own advertisement or campaign concept in response, applying the insights you’ve gained.

Career Opportunities

A degree in Advertising opens up a wide range of career opportunities across various industries. Graduates can work in advertising agencies, media companies, or in-house marketing teams, where they may take on roles such as advertising account manager, creative director, media planner, or copywriter. Additionally, opportunities exist in digital marketing, social media management, public relations, brand management, and market research. Professionals in advertising can also work with nonprofit organizations, government campaigns, or start their own advertising consultancy.

Program Learning Outcomes
