Overview
Accounting delves into the principles and practices that govern financial reporting, analysis, and decision-making. At Lisburn University, we explore how accounting serves as the language of business, offering insights into organizational performance and guiding economic decisions in industries, governments, and nonprofit organizations.
One day in class, your professor might present a financial statement from a global corporation. You and your classmates analyze, critique, and discuss its components, such as revenues, expenses, and cash flows, as well as its implications for stakeholders. Then, you’ll prepare your own financial analysis or create strategies to optimize organizational performance based on real-world scenarios.
Career Opportunities
Our accounting graduates pursue careers and internships across diverse fields, including public accounting, corporate finance, auditing, tax consulting, governmental accounting, and forensic accounting. Many find opportunities in prestigious accounting firms, financial institutions, nonprofit organizations, and multinational corporations. Some graduates start their own accounting practices, while others advance their education through graduate programs in accounting, finance, business administration, and law, further expanding their expertise and career prospects.
