Financial Economics Concentration

You’ll develop the analytical and critical thinking skills needed to evaluate financial markets, assess economic trends, and implement effective financial strategies across various industries—preparing you to make a significant impact in the world of finance and economics.

Overview

Financial Economics studies examine how markets function, how economic policies shape financial systems, and how individuals and organizations make investment decisions. At Lisburn University, we explore the many ways financial strategies influence economic growth, risk management, and global financial stability.

One day in class, your professor might present a case study on a major financial crisis or an emerging market trend. You and your classmates analyze, critique, and discuss its causes, impacts, and policy responses. Then, you develop your own financial models and strategies, applying economic theories and quantitative techniques to address real-world financial challenges.

Career Opportunities

Our graduates pursue careers and internships in a wide range of financial and economic roles, including investment analysis, financial consulting, risk management, economic research, banking, and corporate finance. Many have launched their own financial ventures or pursued further studies in economics, finance, business administration, or data analytics. Others have contributed to government agencies, multinational corporations, financial institutions, and policy think tanks, making a significant impact on global financial markets and economic development.
