Overview
Medicine addresses the ways in which scientific knowledge, medical techniques, and compassionate care reflect and affect human health. At Lisburn University, we explore the many ways that medicine can be used — and sometimes misused — to effect change in public health, policy, individual care, and global well-being.
One day in class, your professor might discuss a medical breakthrough or a health crisis affecting the global population. You and your classmates analyze, critique, and discuss that issue from different perspectives, such as its scientific foundation, its implications for patient care, its ethical considerations, and its impact on society. Then, you’ll collaborate to explore potential solutions, whether through research, clinical application, or policy changes.
Career Opportunities
Our graduates work and intern in a variety of roles across the healthcare sector — including hospitals, clinics, research institutions, pharmaceutical companies, public health organizations, and non-profits. Many have pursued careers in medical practice, healthcare administration, medical research, public health, and healthcare policy. We’ve also had graduates start their own healthcare-related businesses, contribute to medical innovations, and continue their studies in specialized medical fields, public health, or health management.
