Fine Arts

You’ll develop the creative and critical thinking skills you need to analyze and produce a diverse range of artistic expressions — and to make a meaningful impact in the world of art and culture.

Overview

Fine Arts addresses the ways in which creativity, expression, and technique reflect and affect human experience. At Lisburn University, we explore the many ways that art can be used — and sometimes misused — to influence culture, society, emotions, and personal identity across various mediums.

One day in class, your professor might present a painting, sculpture, or performance from a renowned artist. You and your classmates analyze, critique, and discuss that artwork from different angles, such as its medium, its form, its messages both expressed and implied, the intentions of the artist, and the cultural impact of the piece. Then, you create your own artwork in response.

Career Opportunities

Our graduates work and intern in a range of creative fields — visual arts, design, performance art, curating, art education, gallery management, museum curation, public art projects, and digital media. We’ve also had graduates start their own art studios, galleries, or creative agencies, while others pursue graduate studies in fine arts, art history, art therapy, design, or education.
